Theft case solved, two accused arrested

UDHAMPUR, Nov 22: Udhampur Police have solved a theft case under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehambal by arresting two accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
On November 18, Police Station Rehambal received a written complaint from one Anju Devi wife of Rajinder Singh of Sansoo, Udhampur stating therein that some unknown thieves had stolen gold ornaments alongwith other household items including LCD TV, Gas cylinder etc. from her house.
In this regard, case FIR No. 292/2023 under relevant section of law was registered in PS Rehambal and a special team led by Insp Pushpinder Singh, SHO PS Rehambal was formulated.
During the investigation, several suspects were rounded up by the police team and put to sustained questioning. During this two suspects namely Raghubir Singh son of Chamel Singh of Sansoo, Udhampur and Viru Yadav son of Panchdev Tadav of Sansoo, Udhampur confessed their involvement in the said case. Duo was subsequently arrested by the Police team.
On the confession of both the accused persons, stolen property, worth around Rs 3,50,000 was recovered by the police.
