JAMMU, Apr 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) have solved a theft case registered at Police Station Channi Himmat within 72 hours.
A police official said that a written complaint was lodged by one Purana Chandara Parida son of Danda Parida of Sector G, Sainik Colony, Jammu, reporting therein the theft of household items, including gas cylinders and power tools from his residence in Sector A.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 61/2025 under sections 331(4)/305 BNS was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
With the help of technical and human intelligence, the investigating team apprehended the accused Balwant Singh of Bakshi Colony, Sehora, Jammu, and recovered the stolen items, including gas cylinders, LCD TV, cutter machine, cable cutter, lineman plier, and a remote control from his possession.
According to the police official, the accused is a habitual burglar with several FIRs registered against him at Police Stations Janipur, Channi Himmat, and Gangyal.
