Theft case worked out, burglar arrested with stolen items

JAMMU, Nov 27: Akhnoor police under ‘Operation Meghdoot’ worked out a theft case with the arrest of a burglar and recovery of stolen items.
As per police sources, on October 12 this year, a complaint was lodged by Hans Raj, son of Vishwa Nath, a resident of Brui Tehsil Maira Mandrian with Police Station Akhnoor stating that during the intervening night of September 26 and 27, some unknown persons have stolen domestic items from his house.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 215/17 under Section 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, many suspects were rounded up and out of them, one suspect broke down and confessed that he had committed the theft.
The thief was arrested, who has been identified as Suleman Khan, son of Khuda Baksh, a resident of Barui, Akhnoor. On his disclosure, stolen property containing including 4 gas cylinders, 1 Bhatti, 4 bags of basmati rice, 5 kilograms onion, 17 kilograms sugar, 12 kilograms cereal, 1 tin of refined oil and 4 sagla were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Shiv Dev Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.
