Theft case worked out

JAMMU, Dec 19: With the arrest of an individual, police in Gadigarh area here claimed today they have solved a theft case reported from Gurudwara Sahib Area.
A police spokesperson said that a complaint was registered at Police Post Gadigarh regarding theft of Rs 90000 from a piggy bank (Gullak) in the Gurudwara Sahib area at Upper Gadigarh.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 265/2023 Under Sections 457/380/295 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
During investigation, the police spokesperson said that teams of Police Post Gadigarh led by incharge Police Post Gadigarh rounded up a suspected person identified as Deepak Kumar alias Bodhu of Rajiv Basti, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
During sustained interrogation, he added that the accused confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen amount of Rs 90000 was recovered from his possession.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
