UDHAMPUR, Jan1: Police worked out a theft case under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur and arrested the accused persons besides recovering the stolen items.
The arrested accused were identified as Gafoor, son of Yousuf of Balyal, Udhampur and Sadiq Mohd, son of Shah Mohd of Garnai, Udhampur.
They had burgled the shop of Ankush Sharma from Gole Mela, Udhampur following which a police team headed by SHO PS Udhampur Chaman Gorkha under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs conducted raids in different suspected locations.
During raids, some suspects were zeroed in by police and during sustained interrogation of these suspects, two of them broke down and confessed to the commission of offence who were arrested on spot.
On the disclosure of the accused persons, stolen items like ply boards, GI Tin sheets, Pipes etc valuing more than Rs 70, 000 were recovered.
