Theft case worked out, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Nov 9: Police in Jammu’s Bahu Fort area claimed today they have solved a theft case by recovering the stolen property worth Rs 1 lakh, including two stolen scooties, from the possession of the burglars.
A police official said that acting on the complaints about theft of two-wheelers, the Police registered two FIRs, numbered 268/2024 and 259/2024, under the relevant sections of the law.
During the investigation, he said, two suspects, identified as Hemraj from Ramkot, Kathua and Sahil Yaseen Shah from Bugam, Kulgam, were detained for questioning.
On sustained questioning, the duo confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, the stolen vehicles were recovered, he said. Further investigation in both the cases is underway, added the police official.
