JAMMU, Nov 16: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Peer Mitha area have arrested one person and recovered from his possession stolen items worth Rs 10 lakh.
A police official said that on November 6, 2024, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Peer Mitha by one Vinay Handa son of Ravi Nand Handa of Jogi Gate, Shahidi Chowk, Jammu, regarding a theft incident in a dwelling house within the jurisdiction.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 62/2024 under sections 331(4) and 305(a) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation started.
After relentless efforts, he said, the investigating team successfully apprehended the accused identified as Mohammad Yaseen of Sana Bati, Tehsil Ukhral, District Ramban, and on his disclosure, recovered the stolen items, including mobile phones, wrist watches, gold and diamond jewellery, cash, i-pod, Acer Tab, silver coins, bracelets and other items worth around Rs 10 lakh.
