Theft case worked out, stolen property recovered

UDHAMPUR, March 19: With the arrest of accused and recovery of stolen property, Udhampur Police has worked out the case of theft that had taken place in a shop at Ward number 01 of Udhampur town.
Based on written complaint by Vipan Sharma, the shop owner, a case FIR number 96/2022, under section 457/380 IPC was registered. A special team of PS Udhampur, led by SHO, Inspector Chaman Gorka, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Udhampur, Sahil Mahajan conducted raids at different suspected locations and detained one of the suspects who confessed the commission of the offence. On his disclosure, his other associate involved in the case was also arrested by the police.
The identity of the accused persons was established as Amir Chandail, son of Mohd Rafiq, presently putting up at Housing Colony, Udhampur and Shabu, son of Gami of Phatti Bhangara, Udhampur. Police also recovered 13 kg of copper wire, which was stolen from the shop.
