Theft case worked out, vehicle lifters held

JAMMU, Sept 11: With the arrest of two persons, Police in Chinore area here today claimed to have solved a theft case.
A police spokesperson said that on September 5, 2023, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Chinore by one Pyare Lal son of Chura Ram of Rajinder Nagar, Bantalab stating therein the theft of his scooty from outside his home.
On this, an FIR under Section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Post Chinore and investigation started, he said.
During investigation, he said, special teams of Police Post Chinnore led by SDPO Domana Vishal Shoor assisted by SHO Domana, Inspector Kunal Singh Jamwal and incharge Police Post Chinore, PSI Rajesh Kumar rounded up two suspects identified as Nikhil Goswami and Rohan Goswami, both residents of Bari Brahamana.
During questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, the stolen scooty as well as two other vehicles were also recovered from their possession, said police spokesperson.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
