Theft cases solved, 6 accused held

SRINAGAR, June 25: Police in Srinagar today said to have solved five theft cases by arresting six accused persons involved in the commission of crimes and have recovered stolen property from their possession.
While giving the details of the cases, police said, officers from Police Station Shaheed Gunj arrested 3 juvenile accused persons and recovered 3 scooties, 1 bike & a Maruti car along with a bunch of keys and other equipment used in the commission of crimes from them.
“Out of three juvenile accused persons, one is resident of UP who is expert in making duplicate keys. All the Juvenile accused persons were sent to Juvenile Home by Court on remand,” police said.
In this regard, police said, cases vide FIR numbers 65/2021, 66/2021 and 69/2021 under the relevant section of laws already stands registered in Police Station Shaheed Gunj.
Similarly, Police solved a theft case FIR No 73/2021 of PS Shaheed Gunj in which a cash amount of Rs 4 lakh was stolen from a vehicle at Old Secretariat Srinagar.
“Police have arrested one accused person from Lawaypora who was involved in the commission of the crime and have recovered stolen amount from his possession,” police said.
Moreover, during the investigation of case FIR No. 67/2021 of PS Shaheed Gunj, Police have arrested 02 accused persons and have recovered a cash amount of Rs 52000 from their possession.
