Theft cases worked out

JAMMU, Nov 18: Police in RS Pura area here claimed today that they have worked out several theft cases by recovering three stolen vehicles. Besides, police have also recovered some other stolen articles from the thieves.
A police spokesperson said that several complaints were lodged at Police Station RS Pura regarding thefts in the area under the jurisdiction of Police Station RS Pura.
Acting on the written complaints, he said, special teams of police station RS Pura led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna, assisted by SHO RS Pura, Inspector Pawan Kumar rounded up three suspects.
They were identified as Shiv Dayal alias Sunny of Chohalla Kothey at present Tehsil Bari Brahamana, Sohan Singh alias Birju of Teli Basti, Bari Brahamana, and Rohit Kumar of Chohalla, RS Pura.
The police spokesperson said that the suspects confessed to their involvement in the thefts and on their disclosure, three stolen bikes were recovered.
During sustained questioning, he said, some other stolen items including LEDs, laptop, AC, gas cylinders, stoves, WiFi adopter, and wall clocks were also recovered from the possession of the accused.
The unclaimed property was recovered by the police under section 102 of the CrPC, he said.
Accordingly, police have booked the accused in case FIR number 165/2023 under section 379 of the IPC registered at Police Station RS Pura and arrested the accused.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he added.
Pertinently, the overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP Headquarters, Ramnish Gupta.
