Theft in Post Office, Rs 3.91 lakh stolen

UDHAMPUR, Feb 15: Under mysterious circumstances, theft took place at the Post Office Majalta were locks were found broken and cash of Rs 3.91 lakh was missing.
According to the complaint lodged by Jyoti Prakash, Incharge Post Office Majalta, staff of the Post Office Majalta when reached at the office this morning, found shutter of the office lifted. Inside the office, they found Post Office papers, Passbooks and postage lying burnt while locks of the doors and cupboard were broken. Cash besides some other items were found stolen.
However, SHO Majalta Vijay Kumar said during the preliminary investigation, it was found that main door of the office complex was locked and it doesn’t seem to be a case of theft only. Further investigation of the case is going on.
