DODA, Dec 28: Police here today worked out a theft case involving stolen property from a temple and has arrested two thieves with stolen property.
Giving details in this regard, Police sources informed that one Amit Singh, son of Dharam Singh, resident of Kudrela Thore, Tehsil Batote, District Ramban, who is priest at Kali Mata Temple at Assar, got a complaint registered with Police regarding theft of some ornaments from the temple.
In this connection, a case in FIR No. 54/2024 U/S 331 (4)/305 BNS was registered at Police Station Assar and investigation started.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, a Police team headed by SHO Assar Inspector Zulfkar Ali swung into action rounded up two suspects Salman Ahmed, son of Ashiq Hussain, resident of Kishtwar and Akhter Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Thathri who during questioning confessed their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, the stolen items were recovered.
