Thefts in Tehsil, ZEO office

RAJOURI, Nov 20: Some unknown thieves broke the locks of Tehsil Office and Zonal Education Office at Thannamandi last night and decamped with Rs 12,000 cash and some record while some burglars barged into a house in Ward No. 10 of Rajouri town last night and escaped with cash and gold jewelry worth lakhs.
Official sources said that during last mid night some thieves broke the locks of Tehsil office and stole some cash and record after breaking Almirah. They had also broken the lock of Almirah having record of Adhar Cards. At least three Almirahs had been broken. They also moved to the nearby ZEO office and broke the locks and stolen some cash and ransacked some files with the motive to remove some record.
The department officials came to know about the matter in the morning. They called police and the police party led by SHO reached the spot. They examined the spot and then registered a case for investigation. As per inputs provided by concerned employees Rs 12,000 cash has been stolen from both the offices. The police has started investigation into the case and it believes that possibility of the involvement of some insiders can not be ruled out.
Meanwhile, some burglars barged into the house of one Mohd Ishfaq, son of Mohd Salim, resident of Ward No. 10 in Rajouri town last night. Entire family had gone to Jammu to attend marriage function. His neighour found his locks broken and informed other people in the locality and his relatives there. Then matter was taken up with the Rajouri police. The police party led by SHO Chaman Gorkha reached there and started investigation. The gold ornaments and some cash was stolen from the house.
