KATRA, Feb 16: Police at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan solved a theft case within hours and arrested the thief besides recovering the stolen items.
A pilgrim namely Shubam Verma from Ghaziabad had lodged a complaint at Police Station Bhawan that his bag containing one mobile phone (Oppo A-51), Rs 2000 cash, clothes and other items was stolen from Bathing Ghat Bhawan.
After registering a case FIR, Police Station Bhawan launched investigation. With the help of physical and technical assistance, Police arrested the accused person namely Lalit, son of Subash Chander of Gali No 3 Pritam Nagar, Ludhiana and recovered the stolen items within few hours of the registration of FIR.
During further interrogation of the accused, eight other phones along with watches, Power Banks, Ear Phones and other items costing approx rupees one lakh were recovered from his possession. Recovery and arrest were made by SHO Bhawan Khyatiman Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Bhawan, Bhisham Dubey.
