Thief arrested, stolen cash recovered

JAMMU, Apr 9: Bathindi Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen cash from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Bathindi by a person namely Narinder Pal Singh, son of Nanak Singh of Ajeet Nagar, Upper Gadigarh wherein he stated that some unknown persons stole a bag containing cash of around Rs 1.5 lakh from his auto load carrier which he has parked at Mecca Chowk Bathindi.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 101/2022 under Section 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Post Bathindi led by PSI Mohammad Younis Khanday was constituted under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali and SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Basit Khan, son of Saleem Khan of Doongiyan Bathindi District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen bag along with cash Rs 1,29,564 was recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
