JAMMU, Mar 6: Channi Himmat police arrested a thief and recovered stolen cash from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Ghansham, son of Betha of Madhya Pradesh, at present Chowadhi, Sanik Colony with police station Channi Himmat stating that some unidentified persons entered into his jhuggi and fled away with Rs 20,000 cash, when he was out at work.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 28/17 under Section 454 and 380 RPC was registered at Channi Himmat police station and investigation started.
During investigation, one suspect namely Rajjan, son of Aasha Ram of Madhya Pradesh, at present Chowadhi, Sainik Colony was picked up. During questioning, he broke down and confessed to commit the theft. The accused was arrested and stolen cash was also recovered from his possession.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
