JAMMU, Sept 14: Bakshi Nagar police arrested a thief and recovered stolen cash from his possession.
As per police sources, on September 10 this year, a complaint was lodged by Uttam Singh, son of Milkhi Singh of Billawar, District Kathua with Police Station Bakshi Nagar regarding theft of Rs 30,500 from his rented accommodation at Bakshi Nagar.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 163/19 under section 454 and 380 Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the thief, who has been identified as Goutam Sharma, son of Rakesh Sharma of Krishna Nagar, District Jammu, at present Bakshi Nagar.
On the disclosure of arrested thief, the stolen cash has been recovered from his house.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
