Thief arrested, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, May 21: Channi Himmat Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, on May 19 this year, a complaint was lodged by Police Station Channi Himmat by a man namely Mahal Singh Baloria, son of Pritam Singh Baloria of Channi Himmat stating that some unknown thieves have broken the glass of his Maruti Alto car bearing registration number JK02AS-6362 and stole some items.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 92/2021 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Channi Himmat led by SHO Inspector Karan Chalotra and assisted by PSI Mohammad Ilyas was constituted under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar and SP South Deepak Digra.
After strenuous efforts along with the analysis of technical assistance and CCTV cameras footages of the area, arrested the thief, who was identified as Joginder Lal alias Kuku, son of Des Raj, a resident of Trikuta Nagar, at present Malik Market, District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen items including inverter battery, ladies bag, wallets, tool box, iron rod, jewellery box, artificial jewelleries, ATM cards of different banks and financial institutions, shopping cards of different outlets, health card, PAN card, Aadhar card, two driving licenses, identity cards and silver ornaments were recovered.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused had carried out 5 more such thefts in the past.
Further investigation is going on to ascertain his involvement in any other cases.
