Thief arrested, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Oct 9: Bishnah Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged today with Police Station Bishnah by a man namely Santosh Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar of Jharkhand, at present Ward Number 3 Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu stating that on September 15 this year some thieve(s) entered into his house and decamped with household items when he along with his family had visited their native village Khatani in Jharkhand.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 153/2021 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh was constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan and SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta.
The team after hectic efforts arrested the thief, who was identified as Neeraj alias Ashwani, son of Dharam Chand of Kotli Charka District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen items including one inverter battery, one washing machine, one gas burner, one water motor, one brass utensil and a stolen motorcycle were recovered. Two more stolen scooties were also recovered from his possession.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
