JAMMU, May 14: Talab Tillo police arrested a thief and recovered a stolen motorcycle from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Talab Tillo police post laid a naka at Toph Sherkhania bridge intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AH-5822.
During scrutinizing of documents, it came to fore that the vehicle was stolen by the rider and a case under FIR Number 120/15 under Section 379 RPC stands registered with Nowabad police station.
Police arrested the thief on the spot, who has been identified as Surinder Kumar alias Shindi, son of Ashok Kumar of Thed, Bhambla, district Reasi.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Talab Tillo police post SI Rahul Mahajan made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Raghubir Singh, SDPO West Sugandha Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
