JAMMU, June 12: Satwari police under Operation Meghdoot arrested a thief and recovered stolen property worth Rs 70,000.
As per police sources, a team from Satwari police station apprehended a thief, who has been identified as Munish Kumar alias Monu, son of Kuldeep Kumar, a resident of Giddar Gallian and put him to sustained interrogation.
During interrogation, he confessed his involvement in the theft case registered under FIR Number 122/17 under Section 457 and 380 RPC with police station Satwari.
On his disclosure, police recovered stolen property included one laptop, house hold items and cash.
Further questioning of the accused is going on and more recoveries are expected from him.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh along with Constable Rajbeer, Constable Sikander Kumar and Constable Anu Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
