JAMMU, Aug 16: Janipur Police arrested a thief and recovered 8 stolen vehicles from his possession.
As per police sources, on August 9 this year, a complaint was lodged regarding theft of a scooty and accordingly a case under FIR Number 87/2022 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
During the course of the investigation, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Ajaz Haider and assisted by PSI Rashid Ali was constituted.
The team after hectic efforts finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Rahul Kumar alias Kaka, son of Sham Lal of Chak Changerwan, Muthi, District Jammu.
On his disclosure, police team recovered eight stolen two wheelers, which the accused had stolen from different parts of Jammu.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
The arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO City West Rahul Nagar and SP North Kulbir Handa.
