RAMBAN, Jan 22: Banihal Police arrested a thief alongwith duplicate pistol and stolen around Rs 10 lakh cash.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a man namely Khurshid Ahmed Shah, son of Gul Mohammad Shah with Police Station Banihal stating that a person came to his shop and after showing pistol decamped with a bag containing around Rs 10 lakh, which was supposed to be deposited in the bank by the complainant.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant Sections was registered at Police Station Banihal and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Banihal arrested the accused from near Railway Station Banihal along with a duplicate pistol and stolen Rs 10,54,000. The car, which the accused was driving, was also seized.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
