JAMMU, Jan 30: Pouni Chak Police arrested a thief along with 15 stolen batteries.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Pouni Chak by a person namely Mandeep Singh, son of Janak Singh Chib of near Jaswant Plaza Camp Gole Gujaral stating that during the intervening night of January 23 and 24 this year, someone has stolen battery of his auto load carrier.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 25/2021 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, special teams of Police Station Domana were constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul.
A team led by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak Inspector Mukhtiyar Ali with the help of CCTV camera footages along with technical assistance finally arrested the accused, who was identified as Bunty Sharma, son of Bishan Dass of Jandial Thathi District Jammu.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure 15 stolen batteries of vehicles were recovered.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
