JAMMU, Mar 16: Peer Mitha Police arrested a thief along with stolen cash and silver chain within 24 hours.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a man namely Aamir Rafiq, son of Mohammad Rafiq, a resident of Mohallah Dalpatian with Police Station Peer Mitha stating that some unknown person has stolen cash of around Rs 20,000 and a silver chain by breaking the almirah from his house.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 17/2022 under Sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Peer Mitha led by SHO Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Kulbir Handa questioned some suspected persons and finally nabbed the thief.
The arrested person was identified as Deepak Kumar, son of Amit Kumar, a resident of Kalka Colony Bagh-e-Bahu District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen Rs 20,300 and silver chain worth Rs 10,000 were recovered from his house.
Further questioning of the arrested person is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
