Thief arrested with stolen gold items

JAMMU, Jan 27: Nowabad and Talab Tillo Police jointly arrested a thief along with stolen gold items weighing 8 tolas.
As per police sources, on November 16 last year, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Nowabad by a man Bhopinder Singh, son of Kartar Chand of Jandi Hiranagar Kathua, at present Jawahar Nagar Talab Tillo District Jammu stating that some unknown thieves entered into his house on November 15, 2020 and decamped with gold ornaments weighing 8 tolas and cash from his house.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 145/2020 under Sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police team led by SHO Nowabad Inspector Deepak Jasrotia and assisted by Incharge Police Post Talab Tillo SI Kali Charan rounded up number of suspects and finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Sahil Dogra, son of Garu Ram of Roulki Bakshi Nagar District Jammu by connecting various links.
During sustained questioning, the suspect confessed his involvement in the said case. Also, upon his disclosure, stolen gold items weighing 8 tolas worth Rs 4 lakh was recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on to ascertain the involvement of the arrested person in any other case.
