Thief arrested with stolen gold ornaments, cash

JAMMU, July 27: Government Railway Police (GRP) Jammu arrested a thief and recovered stolen gold ornaments and cash from his possession.
As per police sources, yesterday a passenger Anil Aneja, son of Joginder Kumar Aneja of Krishna Nagar Jammu while travelling from Coimbatore to Jammu via Navyug train noticed that theft has taken place and gold ornaments approximately 132.150 gram and cash Rs 1.50 lakh was stolen from his possession.
The applicant passenger instantly reported the matter to Police Station GRP Jammu. To further investigate the matter, a case under FIR Number 10/2009 under section 380 RPC was registered in Police Station GRP Jammu.
In order to hold fast track investigation and nab the culprit at the earliest, a team of GRP officers and officials under the supervision of Anita Pawar, SDPO GRP Jammu and Inspector Vinod Kundal SHO Police Station GRP Jammu was constituted by Mohammad Arshad, SSP GRP Jammu.
During the course of investigation, police team of GRP Jammu acting swiftly into the matter apprehended the thief, who has been identified as Surinder, son of Bhartu of Asrafgarh District Jind Haryana.
On the disclosure of the accused, police team recovered the stolen gold ornaments and cash.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
