JAMMU, Nov 19: Bathindi Police arrested a thief along with stolen items.
As per official sources, information was received at Police Post Bathindi regarding theft in the house and accordingly a case FIR Number 204/2022 under sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Post Bathindi led by PSI Mohammad Sayaf Khan was constituted under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali, SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta Sharma.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Irshad Ahmed alias Shadu, son of Saleem of Teli Basti Bari Brahmana District Samba.
On his disclosure, stolen items worth Rs 2 lakhs were recovered.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused has already been involved in more than dozen burglaries cases in Katra, Kathua, Jammu and once booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).
Further investigation into the case is going on.
