RAMBAN, July 13: Khari police arrested a thief and recovered stolen property worth lakhs from his possession.
As per police sources, on July 10 this year, a complaint was lodged by Anup Trivedi, Manager AFCONS Company with Police Post Khari stating that on July 8 this year, a person namely Gull Mohd, son of Abdul Samad Naik of Seran Teh Khari has stolen about 100 quintals of 12 mm TMT iron bar by loading on one damper bearing registration number PB08CP-8105.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 95/19 under section 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, series of raids were conducted at different places and after hectic efforts the accused person was arrested along with stolen steel about 100 quintals 12 mm TMT iron bar worth about Rs 5 lakhs. The dumper used for commission of the offence was also seized.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Khari SI Ranjeet Singh Rao made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Aabid Bhukhari, SDPO Banihal Sajad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
