RAMBAN, Apr 16: Khari police arrested a habitual thief and recovered stolen vehicle from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Mohammad Naseem, son of Gul Mohammad of Ahama on April 7 this year with Police Post Khari stating that some unknown person(s) have stolen his Maruti car bearing registration number JK02AA-4429.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 59/2020 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Khari Police Post rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the thief from Nowgam areas of Srinagar, who has been identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Sitar Lone of Bhatebas Shagan.
On his confession, the said vehicle has been recovered from Nowgam area of Srinagar.
Further investigation into the case is going on as the accused is a habitual thief and some more recoveries are expected in coming days.
The arrest and recovery has been made by Incharge Police Post Khari Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Aabid Bhukhari, SDPO Banihal Ashish Gupta, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
