JAMMU, Nov 21: RS Pura Police today claimed to have arrested a thief and recovered five stolen bikes on his disclosure.
According to a police spokesperson, acting on a bike theft case registered vide FIR Number 203/2022 u/s 379 IPC in Police Station R S Pura and to crack the case, a special team of Police Station RS Pura under the overall supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh was constituted.
“During investigation, the team led by SHO Police Station RS Pura Inspector Pawan Kumar Dogra rounded up one suspect namely Sunny Kumar son of Raj Kumar, resident of Ward Number 8 (RS Pura), who upon sustained questioning, confessed his involvement in the theft,” the official said.
He said on the disclosure of the accused, 5 stolen motorcycles including one Hero Honda Splendor bearing registration number JK02BS-1423, Splendor bearing chassis number MBLHA10BFEHM4907 & engine number HA10EREHM81341, Passion Pro bearing engine number HA10ENQCA04287, Hero Honda bearing chassis number 07F23F29145 & engine number 07F22E48823 and Passion bearing chassis number MBLHAW095AHA35466 & engine number HA10AGKHKF0778, were recovered.
“The accused was arrested while further investigation of the case was going on,” the official added.
