UDHAMPUR, Nov 7: Police today arrested a thief and recovered stolen jewellery from his possession.
Police spokesman said that, Anjana Devi, wife of Kewal Krishan of Kholaban, Sughlar, Ghordi registered a complaint with Police Station Ramnagar, regarding theft in her house on October 16, 2012.
After registering FIR number 139/12 under Section 454/380/RPC and during course of investigation, police interrogated one suspect namely Suresh Kumar, son of Ganga Dhar of Satani at present Jib, Udhampur, who was cousin brother of the complainant.
During interrogation, the suspect broke down and confessed the crime.
On his disclosure, the stolen jewellery, which was mortgaged by the accused with Muthoot Finance Company, was recovered from the said company and seized accordingly.
