Thief nabbed with stolen gold, silver ornaments

JAMMU, Sept 17: Panjtirthi police under Operation Meghdoot’ nabbed a thief along with stolen gold and silver ornaments worth several lakhs.
As per police sources, a lady namely Shoba Devi, wife of Sushil Sharma, a resident of Dhontli Takki lodged a complaint with police post Panjtirthi stating that during the intervening night of September 9 and 10, thieves barged into her house and decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth several lakhs.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 122/16 under Section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Pacca Danga police station and manhunt was launched to arrest the accused.
On specific information, a team from Panjtirthi police post conducted raid and nabbed a person, who during questioning confessed that he had committed theft.
The accused has been identified as Mustaq Ahmed, son of Samdhu of Grah Morh, District Reasi. On his disclosure, stolen gold and silver ornaments worth several lakhs were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Panjtirthi police post SI Vikas Hans made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Ajay Bhat, SDPO City Vivek Shekhar and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
