Thief nabbed with stolen items worth Rs 70,000

JAMMU, July 27: Bhathindi police nabbed a thief and recovered stolen items worth Rs 70,000 from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Bashir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Akbar of Peer Bagh Colony, Sunjwan with police post Bahu Fort regarding theft in his house.
Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR Number 171/15 under Section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at police station Bahu Fort and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific information, police team from Bhathindi police post intercepted a person on suspicious grounds. During questioning, the person broke down and confessed of committing the theft.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Sadeeq alias Mohammad Nasir alias Mohammad Sadif, son of Dewan Ali of Davigarh, district Reasi.
On his disclosure, police recovered colour TV, cooler, transformer, ceiling fans, carpets and kitchen utensils. The cost of stolen items recovered is around Rs 70,000.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Bhatindi police post SI Mehmood Khan and SHO Bahu Fort police station Mansha Beig made the arrest under the supervision of Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SDPO City East and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
