Thieves’ gang busted; 2 arrested with stolen 16.5 tolas gold ornaments

JAMMU, Jan 5: Janipur Police busts thieves’ gang with the arrest of two burglars and recovery of stolen gold ornaments weighing around 16.5 tolas.
As per police sources, to investigate a case registered under FIR Number 88/2020 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC, a team led by PSI Anil Kumar was constituted under the supervision of SHO Janipur Ajaz Haider and SDPO West Rahul Nagar.
After hectic efforts, the team nabbed two accused persons identified as Sahil Dogra alias Binu, son of Garu Ram of Bakshi Nagar and Akash Khushu, son of late Ashok Kumar Khushu of Durga Nagar District Jammu involved in the aforesaid case.
During sustained questioning, the accused persons confessed their involvement in the above said case and the stolen 16.5 tolas gold ornaments including four gold bangles, one gold nath, two gold tikks, two pair of gold tops, four gold rings, one gold mangal sutar, one gold pandal and three pairs of gold ear rings.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
