JAMMU, Apr 15: Some thieves yesterday broke into the house of former MLA late Dev Datt Sharma in Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu and decamped with cash.
“The thief ransacked the house and stole a cash of about Rs 5000 before leaving,” police sources said while adding that the house was being looked after by one family who has been serving former MLA for the last over 20 years.
They said wife of the inmate was away on shopping spree and there was none in the house. “After the return of inmate of the house, the lock was found broken and portion of house ransacked,” they added.
Gandhi Nagar police had taken cognizance of the matter and even rounded up a suspect on the basis of CCTV footages. The suspect is being interrogated, sources said.
