Thieves strike house in presence of owners, decamp with 15 tolas gold, Rs 2 lakh cash

JAMMU, Apr 25: Amid recurring theft incidents reported from different parts of the city, thieves in Sarwal area here targeted a house in the presence of its owners and decamped with 15 tolas of gold and Rs 2 lakh cash.
On April 22, unidentified persons entered the premises of one Sanjeevan Kumar of Sarwal in the presence of his wife and other family members and secretly locked the doors of one of the rooms where the cash and gold was kept in a locker, a police official said.
When one of the family members knocked the door and found no one responding, she raised an alarm, only to find out the gold and cash missing, he said.
On the complaint of the victim, police have registered a case and started investigation into the matter.
