Thousands fish die in Mendhar river

POONCH, June 27: Thousands of fish and other water animals have died in Mendhar river as some body believed to have poisoned the entire water of the local river.
People of the area were today shocked to notice that thousands and thousands of fish, frogs, reptiles  and other water animals were lying dead in the river. The eagles, crows and birds were seen hovering  over the river. Heaps of dead  fish were seen lying at the river bank as well.
The locals of the area  brought the matter to the notice of local administration but no cognizance of the matter was taken. Even nobody from department of Fisheries  visited the site after receiving information.
The locals then brought the matter to the notice of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, M H Malik on phone who directed the SHO Mendhar Anzir Mir to register an FIR and start investigation. He said that whosoever has mixed poison in the river water must be brought to justice.  The DC said that it was very serious issue and no body has the right to finish the aquatic life.
