Thousands of devotees throng Lal Dawar

JAMMU, Feb 12: The 658th Jayanti of Baba Lal Ji was celebrated with traditional religious fervour and gaiety at Baba Lal Ji temple at Lal Dawar here today.
Thousands of devotees drawn from different parts of the state and outside participated in the celebrations which started since yesterday with Akhand Paat. In the morning special aarti was held by the devotees of Baja Ji who later paid obeisance to this great saint and a follower of Ganga.
The Bhog was performed at 10 am and it was followed by day long bhajan, Kirtan and Satsang. The devotees were seen in long queues from early in the morning waiting for darshan up to late in the night.
Baba Lal Ji of Dhainpur Punjab has 22 Ghadis all over the world including Afghanistan and Pakistan. He was born in Kasur now in Pakistan. Baba Ji has millions of followers and devotees all over the world and on his birthday every year thousands of devotees throng the Lal Dawar to pay their obeisance and seek blessings.
The function was organized by Lal Dawar Trust headed by Ved Parkash Gupta. During the function the religious scholars and devotees of Baba Ji threw light on his spiritual life.
The administration and the Trust had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees. Entire Lal Dawar was fully decorated befitting the occasion.
