Thousands participate in run for unity in Jammu region

JAMMU, Dec 15: Hundreds of people from different parts of this winter capital today participated in the ‘run for unity’ organised by the Iron Collection Cooperation Committee (ICCC) Jammu and Kashmir unit. It culminated at Press Club.
The run was flagged off this morning by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national president Anurag Thakur from Satwari Chowk area.
After covering the distance of around 5 km, the march concluded outside the Press Club of Jammu, where musical concert was also organised by a rock band.
However, run was also organised in Ladakh and Kashmir regions of the State.
The event was organised as a part of countrywide campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party to collect iron from different villages across the country to construct statute of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat.
The Marathon was organized by on the occasion of death anniversary of former Union Home Minister Sardar Patel all over the country today.
In J&K the run for unity was held at 21 places including 16 in Jammu and five in Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
State coordinator ICCC Dr. Nirmal Singh, Jugal Kishore Sharma, president BJP, Ashok Khajuria its Legislative Party leader and Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra (Member Secretary) and incharge of the Marathon were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering Anurag Thakur said that Sardar Patel was legend of this country who dedicated his life for the betterment of this country but after his death no body bother about him. He also said that statue of unity is a symbol of unity of the whole country and it reflects the unity of our country in the whole world. Iron collection is a issue to touch every corner of country and to the farmer of the country as emotional connection between Patel and farmers.
Dr. Nirmal Singh State coordinator of the Iron Collection Committee said that in J&K about 30,000 peoples participated at 21 places of the state including Ladakh and Kashmir regions, which is the beginning of a new era and moving towards a new dawn under the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi who launched a nation-wide campaign for remodeling India.
Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra incharge of Marathon and member Secretary of ICCC said that youth of country want to move under the leadership of Narendra Modi. At Press Club there was a heart throbbing performance by NISSI – The fusion band participant was dancing on the system of favourite’s numbers like Vande Mataram and other patriotic songs.
District Coordinator Baldev Billoria was also present. Besides Rajesh Gupta, Priya Sethi, Ravinder Raina, Munish Khajuria, Advocate Ramneek Singh, Rahul Vaid, Amardeep Singh, Sunny Sangotra, Manjot Singh Sudan, Suresh Jamwal, Narotam Sharma, Raman Sharma, Ricky Sudan, Inderdeep Singh(I.D), Sanju Manhas.
Reports coming from other district and tehsil headquarters said that run for unity was held in Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Ramban and other places.
At Poonch BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi flagged of run for unity in which a large number of people participated while at Reasi it was flagged off by BJP MLAs Sham Choudhry.
At Udhampur Pawan Khajuria BJP State Secy led run for unity with hundreds of partymen.
