JAMMU, May 30: Braving the sweltering heat thousands of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Bhagawaan Gopinath Ashram at Udaiwala Bohri near here today to pay obeisance to Bhagawaan Ji where an annual Mahayagya was performed.
The rush of devotees started from early in the morning and it swelled by the afternoon. The Mahayagya started yesterday evening and Puranahuti was performed this afternoon. The devotees were served with Prashad after Puranahuti.
Besides, the other religious activity Bhajan Kirtan continued in the Ashram throughout the day and devotees performed pooja under the lotus feet of Bhagawaan Ji. On the occasion, a mass prayer was held for the universal peace and upliftment of humanity. The Ashram had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees. There was such a huge rush in the Ashram that devotees were waiting in long queues for darshan till late in the evening. To assist the Ashram management in the arrangements and maintaining order, the police personnel were also pressed into service by administration.
Besides, hundreds of volunteers were also pressed into service by Ashram to assist the devotees. To beat the scorching heat the arrangements for serving Sharbat to devotees were also made by the Ashram.
Bhagawaan Gopinath who is highly revered by his devotees all over the globe is considered a living force by them. The centers dedicated to him throughout the globe are hub of religious activities, a handout issued by Bhagawaan Gopinath Trust said.
According to the handout Mahayagya was also performed at Bhagawaan Ji’s Ashram at Kharyar Srinagar in Kashmir Valley, Greater Kailash, Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi, its other centers Amar Colony Gole Gujral, Camp road Talab Tillo, Jammu, Sanatan Dharam Mandir near Vikaspuri Ashram, New Mahavir Nagar, New Delhi, Narmadeshwar Mahadev Mandir, Sion Trombay road, Chembur, Mumbai, Anand Mangal Hall, Kandivilli Mumbai, Shiv Mandir Sutarwadi Pashan Pune, Devanagondi Hoshali, Bangalore, Rural district Chandigarh, Amritsar and also at various other parts of country and abroad.
