Three arrested for smuggling bovines

JAMMU, Apr 29: Police arrested three persons for smuggling bovine animals from Pertya Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Pertya Morh and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK11A-0791.
During checking, police rescued two bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested three persons, who have been identified as Mohammad Qasim, son of Mohammad Yousuf of district Rajouri, Mohammad Rafiq, son of Mohammad Saleem of Sunderbani and Suresh Kumar, son of Dina Nath of district Rajouri.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
