Three arrested with 8 qtls of expired ration

DODA, Apr 23: Gandoh Police arrested three persons with 8 quintals of expired ration.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Gandoh led by SHO Inspector Vikram Singh and assisted by PSI Parvez Ali laid a naka at Bhatoli and intercepted three Tata Mobile vehicles.
During checking, police team recovered 800 kilograms of expired ration from the vehicles and arrested three persons, who were identified as Irshad Ahmed, son of Nisar Ahmed of Bathri Tehsil Kahara District Doda, Mohammad Arif, son of Ghulam Nabi Wani of Tendla Tehsil Chilly Pingal District Jammu and Mohammad Yaqoob, son of Mareed Bakesh of Bathri Tehsil Kahara District Doda. All the vehicles were also seized.
During questioning, the arrested persons disclosed that they were going to sell this expired ration in areas of Chilly, Bhatoli and Haddel and have also changed the expiry date on the bags of flour and suji from year 2021 to year 2022 with permanent marker for their personal benefit and to befool the poor people.
A case under FIR Number 22/2022 under Sections 420 and 273 IPC has been registered at Police Station Gandoh and investigation started.
The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Gandoh Shahzada Kabir Mattoo, Additional SP Bhaderwah Aftab Mir and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom.
