JAMMU, June 11: Bakshi Nagar, Nowabad and Rajbagh Police arrested three drug peddlers’ with heroin and cannabis.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Bakshi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Ravi Kant during patrolling signalled auto bearing registration number JK02BU-0265 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the auto and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted the vehicle after a brief chase.
During checking, police team recovered 4 grams heroin and arrested the auto driver, who was identified as Mohan Lal, son of Om Parkash of Parbhat Colony Peer Baba Satwari District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 88/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nowabad led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During frisking, police team recovered 64 grams cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Asif Hussain Lone, son of Abdul Rehman Lone, a resident of District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 99/2021 under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation initiated.
However, a team from Rajbagh Police Station led by SHO Inspector Bhopinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan and SSP Kathua RC Kotwal during checking at Battle Chak apprehended a drug peddler along with 5.4 grams heroin.
The arrested person was identified as Aallum Deen, son of Saif Deen, a resident of Battle Chak, Tehsil Marheen, District Kathua.
A case under FIR Number 86/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh and investigation started.
