JAMMU, June 30: A three-day long ‘Ayurveda Parv’ is going to be held from July 1st to 3rd at GGM Science College, Jammu.
The festival is being organized by Vinoba Seva Pratishthan (VSP) with support from Union Ministry of AYUSH and in collaboration with Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Jammu, Live for Others-Being Helpful Foundation J&K, GGM Science College Jammu, Bargad and Gandhi Global Foundation New Delhi.
This was disclosed by Manoj Jena, general secretary, VSP and National convener, Ayurveda Parv, while addressing a press conference here today. He said various departments of AYUSH namely Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Central Council for research in Siddha (CCRS), Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) and National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) are participating in the event.
Jena informed that in addition to seminars and panel discussions, nearly 30 research papers on different components of Ayurveda will be presented by researchers, doctors and persons from various fields during the 3-day programme. Further, an exhibition will be organized to show case the benefits of traditional lines of treatment and successful case studies of treatment.
“Free health clinics will be operationalized during the 3-day programme, where people from all walks of life can avail the treatment free of cost. Along with this, free morning Yoga classes will also be organized for the masses,” he said, adding, drawing competition, cultural talent competition, debate and an awareness rally on Ayurveda will also be organized.
He shared that a number of dignitaries including Jammu Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, VC of Cluster University of Jammu Prof Bechan Lal, VC of Central University of Jammu Dr Sanjeev Jain, DG of CCRAS Prof Rabinarayan Acharya, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa and DIG Vivek Gupta are expected to join the inaugural and valedictory function of the programme.
Jena appealed people of Jammu to avail benefit of this ‘Parv’ and participate in different activities being organized during the 3-day programme.
