Three-day cultural fest ‘GLAZE’ concludes at IGGDC Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 13: GLAZE, a 3-day extravaganza that witnessed an overwhelming participation from students of Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu, concluded today. It was the first of its kind event held in IGGDC under the leadership of Cultural Head Prof (Dr) Azhar Malik (HoD).
The Fest was organized by Dr Azhar Malik and his team from the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics which includes Dr Ajay Gupta, Dr Rachna Dhani, Dr Shamim Anjum, Dr Rudra Koul, Dr Ravinder Bhagat, Dr Sachin Chadgal, Dr Taniya, Dr Saksham and Dr Sangeeta. The objective of the team was to provide platform for the students to showcase their talent with a competitive spirit.
The event was kicked off with mesmerizing singing performances and skits that captivated the audience on first day followed by the artistic flair that took center stage with impressive artwork displays like cartooning, photography, painting, rangoli and poster making on second day. Lastly, rhythmic dances and fashion show brought energy and vibrancy to the event on last day of the fest.
A panel of judges was invited to evaluate performances of participants. Overall, the event was a celebration of talent and creativity by the staff members, Para-Medical staff, House Surgeons, MDS, BDS, Interns and DDM & DDH students of the institution.
Principal Dr Rakesh K Gupta lauded the effort of the cultural committee team and specifically Dr Rudra Koul for arranging and managing the event. He said that such events were important as they bring together various cultures and social values.
