Three-day workshop on NABH implementation concludes at Directorate of AYUSH

JAMMU, Mar 25: A 3-day workshop on implementation of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Health Care Providers (NABH) concluded at Directorate of AYUSH, J&K.
The workshop was started on March 23 wherein Director AYUSH, J&K Dr Mohan Singh graced the occasion. He highlighted the role of standardized training by NABH and impressed upon the participants that the intent of programme was to improve the AYUSH healthcare quality and patient safety in the hospitals with the aim of being recognized Nationally & Internationally at par with other AYUSH healthcare hospitals accredited by NABH.
He stressed upon the participants to implement the best practices on daily basis in their respective Health care establishments. He further informed that Directorate of AYUSH is providing AYUSH Health care at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels through 573 AYUSH Dispensaries out of which 317 have been upgraded to AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres, 31 Co-Located AYUSH Units in District/Sub-District Hospitals and two Tertiary care 60 bedded Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu and Government Unani Hospital Shalteng Srinagar.
The expert team of NABH comprising of Dr Prassana Rao Principal SDM College of Ayurveda Karnataka, Dr Kiran Pandit Director Gurukripa Institute of Ayurveda Mumbai, and headed by Dr Vandana Sloha, Deputy Director NABH trained the participants for NABH Accreditation Standards regarding AYUSH Hospitals in the 3-day training program.
Dr Shafaqat Khan, OSD to Additional Chief Secretary Health & Medical education Department, highlighted the importance of the workshop during the inaugural session. He informed that the Accreditation of AYUSH Hospitals by NABH shall help in further improving the quality standards of AYUSH Hospitals with quality control and best services which will be acclaimed at National as well as the International Level.
The training was attended by 35 participants from Ayurveda and Unani disciplines comprising of District AYUSH Officers/ Medical Superintendant Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu, In-Charge Officer Government Unani Hospital Shalteng Srinagar and Medical Officers from Ayurveda and Unani Streams.
