KARGIL, Nov 16: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan said that photography is an effective and crucial tool of communication which can be used as a powerful marketing tool to portray the historical, cultural aspects and natural beauty of places of tourist interest to attract more and more tourists to particular destinations.
CEC Khan was addressing participants during the valedictory function of 3 days basic workshop on photography organized by Department of Tourism, UT Ladakh in collaboration with Indian Institute of Photography and Art for Cause.
Executive Councillor for Works Mubarak Shah Nagvi; Executive Councillor for Health, Muhammad Ali Chandan; Senior Superintendent of Police Kargil, Dr Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Tsering Motup; Former Executive Councillor and Councillor Choskore, Nassir Hussain Munshi; CEO Kargil Development Authority, Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani; AD Tourism Kargil, Aga Syed Taha besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion. Later, the CEC and the other dignitaries distributed appreciation and felicitation letters among the trainers, prize winners and participants of the workshop.
The winners for best images clicked included Muhammad Mussa 1st prize, Muhammad Ali 2nd and Anwar Ali 3rd in the senior category and Stanzin Nima 1st, Intisab Nassir Munshi 2nd prize and Leela Bee 3rd prize in the junior category.
The CEC presented appreciation letters to the workshop mentors Irshal Ishu and Lobsang Nima while Hakima Banoo and Hassnain Rangyul were also presented with special felicitation letters for their noteworthy contribution during the workshop.
