JAMMU, Sept 3: Bus Stand and Akhnoor Police arrested three drug peddlers along with contraband.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Bus Stand led by SHO Inspector Vishal Shoor laid a naka and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered around 12 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Pintoo, a resident of Bihar, at present Sopore Kashmir. He was working as a labourer at brick kiln in Sopore and was taking the consignment to Punjab for selling.
A case under FIR Number 46/2022 under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar and assisted by PSI Zulfqar Ahmed during checking intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK02CQ-1527.
During checking, police team recovered 132 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Satish Kumar Sharma alias Shaila, son of Sudarshan Kumar Sharma of Ward Number 9 Bhagwati Nagar Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 255/2022 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
However, a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar and assisted by PSI Manoj Kumar intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered around 95 grams ganja from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The accused was identified as Vivek Kumar alias Sunny, son of Satish Kumar of Ward Number 8 Kabir Colony Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 256/2022 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation initiated.
The arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial.
